Arduino Home Automation Projects, written by Marco Schwartz and available here is an Arduino book filled with great Arduino projects that are completable and can be enjoyed by beginners and seasoned hobbyist alike. It provides a great stockpile of information and really digest the info from the community and makes it available in a compact easy to read form.
This Arduino projects book provides schematics, photographs and code for all the projects, it also includes links for online stores where the components can be bought. This makes it easy to get the projects up and running quickly.
This good Arduino book is also timely as the projects it contains fits well into the new and hot Internet Of Things (IOT) concept
and gives the reader a good feel as to what is required to implement an Arduino IOT component or system. It does this by introducing web server technologies, Arduino RESTful APIs, Arduino and python, cloud technologies, wireless sensor networks, etc., with the Arduino projects. This combination allows the reader to bridge the gap between the usual microcontroller projects and modern internet and communication technologies.
The only thing this book falls short on is the final chapter that is supposed to show how to build a custom home automation system but it only goes into detail as to how to build a standalone Arduino. The reader could however use this in conjunction with the other projects in the book to make their own custom system, and this is what the book actually recommends, but it would be good if it provided a method to build a specific custom system, maybe with a combination of the included projects or something like that.
All in all this book is a very good Arduino projects book and also a buy and will be beneficial to beginners and seasoned hobbyist alike as it can server as a good introduction to microcontrollers and electronics and provide information to take existing microcontroller projects to the next level.
